Is it safe to use sun beds when pregnant?

There is no evidence to suggest otherwise, so in early pregnancy it is probably is safe. Be aware that excessive exposure to the sun and certain forms of UV light can damage your skin; there is no evidence that you are more susceptible to this in pregnancy however you will ''tan'' differently as your pigmentation changes anyway. In later pregnancy avoid using sun beds that involve lying down. This is because when you lie flat on your back in the advanced stages of pregnancy, the weight of the baby presses on the major blood vessels and can result in your fainting.
