I'm 14 weeks pregnant with a splitting headache. Is ibuprofen OK to take?

No, we do not recommend the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as ibuprofen, diclofenac or even aspirin (in pain-killer doses, as opposed to the 'junior' dose sometimes used for other reasons) in pregnancy. You can however use paracetamol (acetaminophen) with or without codeine or dihydrocodeine. If you need something stronger, speak to your doctor.
