My wife is 11 weeks pregnant and we have discovered that the take away food that we ate last night was out of date. Should we be concerned?

The concern is that you might get food poisoning by eating out of date food. Thankfully, this is generally unlikely if food is stored properly, unless it is very out of date, as food manufacturers usually adopt a safe margin approach to 'best by' dates. In virtually all cases, food poisoning (diarrhoea, vomiting, fever) would have affected you within 12 hours if it was going to strike, so it seems that you will both be fine.
