I have a subchorionic haemorrhage on my scan at 11 weeks. What does this mean?
Bleeding is very common in early pregnancy, and it frequently shows on the scan as an area of bleeding underneath the placenta-hence the term 'subchorionic haemorrhage'. It is only a problem if you have heavy, painful, bright red bleeding; usually the bleeding settles on its own with no adverse effects on the developing baby.
