Mild cramping, and even a small amount of bleeing, is not uncommon before 12 weeks. It is likely that unless your pain and bleeding get worse, that everything is OK but there is really no way of telling unless you visit your doctor for an ultrasound scan. There is, by the way, no evidence that scans harm the developing baby in any way.
