Can a tooth be extracted during pregnancy?

Yes, most definitely. It is very rare nowadays to need anything more complicated than a local anaesthetic for this procedure, which is quite harmless for your baby. The risk would be if you did not have urgent dental work carried out, as an abscess or chronic inflammation in your mouth can act as a focus of infection, put you off your food and rarely be dangerous for your pregnancy if you develop a severe infection.
