What causes poor quality sperm?

Many factors can cause poor quality sperm. These include problems with the sperm making apparatus itself-damage to the testicles, mumps infection or congenital developmental problems. The commonest things that you can do something about includes clothing that is too warm, smoking, excess alcohol consumption and the use of recreational drugs. Conditions such as cancer, chemotherapy and steroid usage also reduce sperm quality, as does advanced age.
