What should my average weekly weight gain be?

There is no correct answer for this. Although doctors and midwifes used to be obsessed about checking weight gain in pregnancy, it has been shown to be of very little value in assessing your health or your baby''s growth. So most antenatal clinics weigh you once: at booking, but not afterwards. Weighing you may however be useful in certain situations, for instance in diabetes, kidney disease or pre-eclampsia.
