I have very long irregular periods, but all the blood test and scans have been OK. What could be the cause for this?

It sounds as if the common causes due to any underlying condition such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), premature menopause and other hormone imbalances have all been ruled out. Sometimes, women have irregular long periods because that''s just the way that some womens'' periods are; this is not an illness or condition, just one end of the normal range. Being significantly under or overweight, in a stressful environment or frequest long haul jet travel can also make periods very irregular.
