My doctor said that my being pregnant leaves me more at risk of infections, is this true?

It used to be said that pregnancy left the body is more susceptible to infections. This is probably not entirely correct because your resistance to most infections is not significantly reduced. You may get common infections such as thrush more often, but this is because of the change in acidity in your vagina.
