If we would like a spring baby, when do I need to stop birth control?

To have a baby in the Spring, you would need to conceive in the Summer (June-August). If you are taking the oral contraceptive pill (COCP) then you should stop this at least 3 months before you intend to get pregnant (March or April, in this case). With the mini-pill, you should be able to get pregnant immediately after stopping the last pill in the pack. Using barrier methods of contraception, you could potentially get pregnant if you have unprotected intercourse around the time of ovulation. But remember that this does not guarantee a pregnancy when you want it; it may take up to one year of trying before you actually conceive.
