What can I do about oedema? I have carpal tunnel syndrome in both hands from the swelling and now my ankles are becoming uncomfortable.

In carpal tunnel syndrome, the nerves running in your wrist to your fingers are compressed-this is painful, causing numbness and tingling of the fingers on the inside of your hand (little finger and the two next fingers). This is often worse if you suffer from oedema, particularly in late pregnancy. Nothing can make the oedema better until after you''ve had your baby, but simple painkillers such as paracetamol and sometimes wrist splints make the symptoms of carpal tunnel better.
