Finger and toe nails are present, and the baby''s body has grown so that the head doesn''t look so disproportionately large any more. The skin is covered by vernix, a thick, protective ''grease'' and the baby opens its eyes and mouth frequently, sometimes breathing in jerky movements like ''hiccups''.
