What is an ''OP'' delivery?

''OP'' or ''occiput posterior'' means the baby is lying looking upwards in the birth canal, instead of downwards. Otherwise known as a ''face to pubes'' delivery, this can be the cause of a long and painful labour (especially linked to backache), with a higher chance of needing ventouse or forceps.
