Will I need a Caesarean if I have twins?

Not necessarily, but the chances of having a Caesarean are a lot higher if you have twins rather than one baby. Many obstetricians will perform a Caesarean if the twins are identical, if the first one is breech (bottom down) or there are any complications in your pregnancy necessitating early or emergency delivery. If everything is OK, and you go into labour after about 36 weeks, and the first twin is ''head down'' then it is often reasonable to try for a vaginal delivery as long as there are no contra-indications to this. Your obstetrician is the one to ask about this.
