What kind of baby things are so serious that I need to contact the doctor about?

These are examples of the kind of thing you need to contact your doctor about immediately. If you cannot do this, take your baby to local A&E either by car, taxi or if no other transport, call an ambulance. If your baby is breathing more quickly and ''grunting''; breathing slowly, irregularly and with great effort; if your baby appears to be having a fit or is in spasm or turns blue; if your baby seems to be listless, unaware of you and your surroundings; if the fontanelles (soft patches on the head that aren''t covered by bone)are sunken; i the temperature is raised, especially combined with any of the above or a rash.
