How do I care for my breasts while feeding?

It is important for successful breast feeding that they remain pain and infection free. Wash them at least once a day with perfume free products. If they leak, you can wear pads inside your bra to collect it. Always tell your midwife if your boobs are sore. This may be due to cracked nipples, for which there are creams to help. It may also be an indication of mastitis which is fairly common. One of the ducts gets blocked and an infection can occur. The sooner it is detected, the better for you. Wear a supporting bra all the time.
