I really want to be supportive but my partner seems to have everything under control and doesn''t need me..what should I do?

She needed you before the baby came along, what''s changed?... The fact is that she is preoccupied with someone else''s needs and puts them above everyone else''s. She needs you more than ever, but in seeming to have the baby situation organised, you have read this as she doesn''t need you at all. Talk to her ..tell her how you feel and ask her help in trying to work out what YOU can do. Try to make time for yourselves. Let house work slide for a bit and do something together, just the two of you. It is impractical to suggest going out in the first few weeks but do something around the house. As soon as you both feel confident, leave the baby with someone you trust and go out together. For most couples this seems to result in a trip to the supermarket! but who cares as long as you go out somewhere together.
