Should I respond each time my baby cries?

There is a huge difference at this stage, straight after birth, and say when your baby is six months old. For now the baby is totally dependent on you to provide their every need. The only way your baby can communicate with you is by crying, so yes you should respond, not necessarily the second he cries cry, but certainly check things out if he hasn''t settled within a few minutes.
