There are two types, the cloth ones which you wash and re-use, and the disposable variety. There are no particular benefits to the baby with either one or the other. The benefits are to do with cost versus convenience; it''s really up to you. Nowadays, it''s so much more complicated with disposables especially for boys, girls, patterned, non bleach and so on. This is one issue which really is down to personal choice.
