How will I know if my baby is well, and content?

Babies are very demanding at the start, and all your time seems devoted to their needs, so its not surprising as their demands are constant, you may end up feeling that all is not well. Try to be postive. Look for the signs that are there. Is your baby feeding well, gaining weight, sleeping regularly, peeing/pooing, starting to look at the surroundings and recognising you and your partners voice? These indicate all is well. Aviod using ''adult'' yardsticks to measure. For example, babies do not sleep for ten hours a night at this stage...they do need to pee often, they don''t recognise the difference night and day...they have there own measures, concentrate on these.
