Women often experience acute itching of the skin. It can be very problematic over the abdominal area as the skin stretches to accommodate the growing baby. Simple creams may be of benefit to moisturise the skin. Sometimes, itching occurs with a rash-especially over the tummy but sparing teh tummy button, this is called polymorphic urticaria of pregnancy. Very unusually, severe itching may need to be investigated further by your doctor as it rarely occurs with diseases of the liver (''cholestasis of pregnancy'').- I'm 10 weeks pregnant but don't look pregnant yet.
