How am I likely to feel after the delivery?

The fairy tale version says that the baby crawls onto your tummy, latches on to your nipple feeding expertly as you and your partner gaze fondly, madly in love with your arrival and you all live happily ever after!! Reality check.. perhaps.. but you are far more likely to focus on rather more negative things. You are both likely to experience some or all of the following emotions over the first few hours, and not necessarily at the same time.. go with it and try not to analyse it too much: Happy, dizzy, scared, nervous, responsible, confused, tearful, proud, excited, painful, tender, elated, a failure, disappointed, hungry, sick, relieved, hysterical, protective and pleased.
