There are several signs assoicated with the onset of labour but only one true one. The signs you may feel are, persistent low backache, a leak of fluid from your vagina (suggestive that your waters may have gone), diarrhoea, nausea, and a ''show'', a loss of bloody mucus from your vagina, (this can occur weeks before you actually go into labour). The only true indication that labour has started is that your cervix has started to open (dilate), resulting from regular uterine contractions. An internal examination by your midwife or doctor will ascertain this.
