There are a few signs associated with the start of labour: persistent low backache, a loss of fluid from your vagina (indicating your waters may have broken) a feeling of nausea, and a ''show'' which is a loss of a mucus/bloody plug from your vagina, (this can occur weeks before you actually start labour). The one true indicator is that your cervix has started to open (dilate) as a result of regular contractions of your womb. This will need to be confirmed by your carers. |
