What''s a natural birth?

A natural birth is one which avoids the use of pain numbing drugs, preferring natural forms of pain relief, such as massage, aromatherpay etc. You are encouraged to be as mobile as possible and to choose the position you feel most comfortable for delivery. Some would say a natural birth does not require the use of drugs such as oxytocin or ergometrine to help deliver the placenta afterwards.
