Is home birth as safe as hospital?

If your pregnancy has progessed with little or no complications, there is no evidence to suggest home birth is any less safe than hospital. What concerns people is getting to hospital, should something go wrong. This is an issue for the professionals caring for you and where your home birth is planned on the basis of normal pregnancy/labour progression, home birth is safe.
