How likely is it I will get what I ask for for my labour in the hospital?

This depends entirely on how realistic your requests are, in relation to the kind of labour/delivery you end up having. Most hospitals and their staff will be accomodating to your wishes, but it is vital you keep an open mind, be flexible and ready for change. You will be guided by the staff caring for you, one of their roles, while caring for you. Try to be positive as generally speaking, most women get most of what they want, and with hindsight, can easily live with whatever they didn''t. The most important thing to remember, is that the purpose of all this...the safe delivery of your healthy baby. Working WITH the staff and keeping an open mind is the best way to try to achieve this.
