Who should I talk to about my birth plan?

It should be written before you go into labour. It does not have to be fancy, long or typed. Note down your thoughts and show them to your obstetrician and/or midwife at your antenatal visit, when you will have time to discuss and alter it on professional advice. They will know all about the hospital policies and facilities, and therefore are ideally positioned to tell you if your plans are possible and workable. Preparation is the key, so start making notes when you are between 32-36 weeks pregnant.
