Can vitamins reduce my chance of pre-eclampsia (high blood pressure and protein in my urine)?

There is a promising area of research involving the use of vitamins and other substances that may prevent injury to your blood vessels in pregnancy, reducing the risk of pre-eclampsia. It may be that Vitamins C and E are the most useful; however several studies have shown them to be of no value in established pre-eclampsia; one study suggests possible value if given as supplements early in pregnancy. There is not enough evidence yet to recommend them, and until further, larger studies have been done the answer will not be known.
