My breasts seem to have a life of their own, so big, so sore, why so soon?

Breasts growing bigger is part of pregnancy and will occur until weeks after the birth unless you breast feed, then it will be longer. Once pregnant, your body produces the hormones oestrogen and progesterone in larger amounts and this causes your breast tissue to enlarge and become more sensitive, tender or even painful (it also occurs as part of the menstrual cycle and if you normally have breast changes before your period you are almost certainly going to have them in early pregnancy). The purpose of these changes is to prepare your body for feeding your baby. It is an excellent indication that your body is adapting to your pregnancy.
