Who is who in pregnancy care?

During pregnancy in labour, and after the birth, you will meet with a variety of people who will be involved in giving the care you and your baby need. Of course, good manners mean that people should introduce themselves when they meet you but unfortunately they often forget. If you are in any doubt, ask someone who they are and make a note of their name for future reference. The people you are most likely to meet include midwives, obstetricians (doctors who look after you and the baby whilst pregnant) and paediatricians (doctors who look after the baby once delivered).
