How long should I wait to try to get pregnant after taking oxytrecycline for acne?

Tetracyclines are best avoided in the second half of pregnancy because of the risk of causing discolouration to baby's teeth, and possible softening of the bones. Contrary to some information, these antibiotics may be used for certain infections in pregnancy if necessary. But if you are treating acne, it should definitely be stopped. As tetracyclines clear from the body within a few days, we would recommend that you stop taking oxytetracycline, wait for a period and then start trying for a pregnancy.
