My gums seem to bleed if I eat anything hard, or after I brush my teeth, what''s wrong?

Your gums thicken and become softer once you''re pregnant. This is due, yet again to hormones, and it can leave you at risk of gum injury, bleeding and infections (gingivitis). It is for this reason that in the UK you are entitled to free dental treatment while pregnant. Make the most of it and see your dentist throughout the pregnancy.
