I stopped taking the pill over 6 months ago and had two consecutive periods in the 3rd and 4th months but nothing since. Can you only use an ovulation kit if you have been having regular periods?

You can use an ovulation kit at around the time you think you are ovulating, usually mid cycle. But as the kits are expensive and it is generally only positive on the day that you ovulate, you could quite easily miss this day unless you know roughly when you are most likely to ovulate. If you haven't had a period recently, we suggest you do a pregnancy test first and if negative consult your doctor. Ultrasound scans may then give a good idea as to whether you are ovulating, and when.
