I am 38 weeks pregnant and am measuring smaller than I did at 36 weeks. I have been referred for an urgent scan. What are the possible implications and will I be induced?

Afer 36 weeks, if baby's head engages then the baby apparently 'drops' and can measure smaller than a week or two before-hand, so don't panic. The other thing to remember is that measuring the bump using a tape measure is not very accurate. The scan will help to establish whether baby has stopped growing, whether there is a concern and you need to be induced, or whether everything is OK.
