I had my first ultrasound at 10 weeks and 3 days and the yolk sac is still very visible. When does the placenta take over?

The yolk sac is responsible for nourishing babyuntil 11-12 weeks, when the placenta takes over. The yolk sac then disappears, so it is quite normal to be present at this stage.
