I have a body mass index (BMI) of 14.5; what risks could I face during pregnancy?

A BMI of 14.5 is seriously underweight, and as such you may not even have regular periods-so possibly have reduced fertility. We would recommend that you obtain expert dietetic and medical advice as you may be deficient in vitamins and minerals such as iron and calcium also, depending on the underlying reason. There is a higher risk of preterm delivery (having baby before 37 weeks) and baby being small (growth restricted), if you are very underweight.
