I'm 33 weeks pregant and my cervix has dilated to 3 cm...is this to early to have a baby?

If your cervix has dilated to 3cm you are at high risk of going into preterm labour and having baby soon. However, this isn't necessarily true and if you have no contractions and everything has settled down you might not deliver for a few weeks yet. You should have been given steroids for baby's lungs, and providing that your local hospital has a neonatal intensive care unit there is an extremely high chance that your baby will be fine. Babies can survive nowadays from 24 weeks onwards, and with a high chance of survival from 28, providing they are looked after in a specialized neonatal unit.
